Hi, I’m Yan Du — founder of Finnovix and somewhat obsessed with turning finance data into decisions that actually matter.

Fourteen years ago, when I was an assistant professor of accounting, I shared an office with a colleague who’d recently left consulting. Our daily debates kept circling back to the same observation: companies were drowning in data but starving for insight — not because the data wasn’t there, but because the frameworks to make sense of it weren’t.

That question stayed with me through seven years of teaching and research. Eventually the classroom wasn’t enough — I wanted the engine room. I joined DEME Group, a global marine engineering company, where I spent seven years across Digital Finance, Data Governance, and Business Analysis — working on system implementations, cost control, and performance reporting. 

In 2026 I founded Finnovix — to bring that combination of rigour and hands-on experience to other organisations facing the same challenge.
